They can’t be kept in captivity because they get sick and so their best hope for survival is intensive management. The Kākāpō database is a web application used to manage the day to day operational aspects of managing these birds in the wild. It took a team of us about 18 months to develop the necessary infrastructure and data migrations to redevelop this part of the online banking application.
