Getting Started…

So this is the start.

The goal for this blog and website is to just be the space I want it to be.

Having branched out as a contractor/consultant it seems important to have a presence and brand on the internet that people can get to know you better. At some point in the near future I’ll need to pickup contracts from people I don’t know already and this is one way that people can find out more about me and what I do. The portfolio page has a list of what I’ve been doing over the last ten years or so.

I’m also thinking that the blog will just be a dumping ground to explore a bunch of ideas. Writing stuff down and explaining it to other people helps to clarify your own thoughts about a topic from time to time hopefully I’ll get around to writing about various software development topics that I’m thinking about at the time.

From time to time I plan on also adding some commentary and thinking behind the perfect-stack project. The goal of this open-source project is to provide a good example full-stack architecture that can be quickly and easily used to spin up a new business orientated web application. Instead of spending the first month of a project downloading and integrating things slowly and painfully developers of new applications can quickly fork the perfect-stack project and get started within an hour or so.

Welcome to my little slice of the Internet, I hope you find something interesting.

- Richard.
